Title 17 of the United States Copyright Code says that it is illegal to show a movie in any public venue, including churches (even if there’s no charge), without a movie license. Violation of this law is subject to penalties (as much as $150,000 per exhibition). Hosting a premiere through HeartStone Pictures provides the license to comply with this law.
How Does It Work?
We have two options for showing our films:
Option 1
- Click “Get Started” on this page and fill out the form. There is an $18 Registration fee that covers shipping the materials to you via priority mail.
- We will send you the movie and all the promotional materials.
- Collect $5 per person/$20 per family at your showing.
- Send us 2/3′s of the movie ticket sales and any unused tickets after you show the movie.
Option 2
The church covers the cost by paying a licensing fee. This is based upon size of the congregation. We send you posters, postcards, trailer, and the movie as well.

New first run feature films are released to the church first before going to the theatre, television, or DVD. The church now receives the first fruit of entertainment instead of the last. PLUS entertainment revenues that would normally end up in Hollywood can now flow into the kingdom of God when the small admission fee is collected at the door. Ticket sales are evenly divided between the church/group hosting the event, the filmmaker and Heartstone Pictures.

- Movie trailer on DVD for showing in your church/group or to use in advertising
- Movie posters for advertising the film in your church and community, 11x 17
- Tickets for the premiere
- Postcards for your congregation to hand out as invitations, 4×6
- DVD of tips on hosting a successful premiere
- Link to download bulletin inserts
- Return envelope for any unsold tickets and payment to Heartstone Pictures.
